If you live in the UK and wear wigs for medical reasons you may be able to shop VAT free and save 20% on the prices shown on our website.
How do I know if I am eligible?
If you need to wear wigs because you have medical condition that causes hair loss such as alopecia or you have have loss as a result of chemotherapy or similar treatments, you may be entitled to VAT relief. The reason must be certified by your GP.
If you are in any doubt as to whether you are eligible to receive goods or services zero-rated for VAT you should consult Notice 701/7 VAT reliefs for disabled people available at HMRC Helpline, or you could contact the National Advice Service on 0300 123 1073 before signing the declaration.
VAT exemption applies to wigs only and does not apply to headwear or accessories.
